There is a music of the people
I cannot say if it is a FADO
when I listen to it
there is a new rhythm inside myself....

By hearing it I become who I wish I could be
if wishing is a part of being....
It is a simple melody
that is only learnt by living.....

I listen to it alone, rocking myself to and fro...
Exactly as I wanted..
I lost my path and my faith...
The man I am not, is the one who is happy.

It is so comforting....
this vague and sad song..
it does not allow my soul to carry on crying
and I no longer suffer from having a heart....

I am a foreign emotion
an error of a lost dream
somehow I sing it in any old way
And I end HAVING A MEANING.
