Contemporary Suffragettes

The women's SUFFRAGE in the U.K. started in 1872 as National Society for Women's Suffrage.
Those amongst them who were serious about achieving important things like being able to work, even if you were married, or even voting, did have a long fight in their hands.

The ladies in the picture belong to the Town Women's Guild in Blackheath. The one in a blue jacket is now 92 years old, and still a speaker for many Women Groups....

I feel previledged to be allowed to attend their meetings, etc, whenever I am in the U.K.
